Using Wind and Solar to Reliably Meet Electricity Demand, Greening the Grid

Research output: NLRFact Sheet

Abstract

Greening the Grid provides technical assistance to energy system planners, regulators, and grid operators to overcome challenges associated with integrating variable renewable energy into the grid. This document, part of a Greening the Grid toolkit, describes methods that grid planners can use to calculate capacity value of variable energy sources like wind and solar.
