Abstract

The future holds huge commercial potential--both here and abroad--for the production of electricity from solar thermal electric power. This document describes the three principal types of solar energy collectors and lists some of the many DOE joint ventures with industry that will help the technology become available for near-term markets, advance it toward its technical potential, and foster itsacceptance and utilizaiton by the U.S. power industry.
