Abstract
AstroPower is developing a manufacturing process for Silicon-Film(TM) solar cell production under the Photovoltaic Manufacturing Technology (PVMaT) cost-share program. This document reports on results from the first phase of a three-phase effort. Progress is reported on developing new procedures and equipment for in-line wet-chemical processes, metallization processes, sheet fabrication, solarcell processing, module assembly, solar cell testing, metallurgical-grade silicon purification, and recycling of Silicon-Film(TM) sheet materials. Future concepts and goals for the Silicon-Film(TM) process are also discussed.
