Report on Discussions with Utility Engineers about Superconducting Generators

    Research output: NLRTechnical Report

    Abstract

This report relates to a series of discussions with electric utility engineers concerning the integration of high-temperature superconducting (HTS) generators into the present electric power system. The current and future interest of the utilities in the purchase and use of HTS generators is assessed. Various performance and economic factors are also considered as part of the analysis of utilityprospects for HTS generators.
