Abstract
Using nonimaging secondary concentrators in point-focus applications may permit the development of more cost-effective concentrator systems by either improving performance or reducing costs. Secondaries may also increase design flexibility. The major objective of this study was to develop as complete an understanding as possible of the quantitative performance and cost effects associated withdeploying nonimaging secondary concentrators at the focal zone of point-focus solar thermal concentrators.
