Abstract

Energy infrastructure and related cybersecurity risks at federal agencies are multifaceted and require a better understanding of operational technology (OT) challenge areas. This training focuses on aligning resources and tools with use-cases that highlight themes of interdependent agency challenges. The purpose of this approach is to ease the burden of cyber risk accountability by simplifying knowledge transfer for federal stakeholders and have improved applicability of FEMP resources. The session will provide an overview of cybersecurity fundamentals for energy managers along with relevant use-cases and examples of how FEMP supported OT cyber tools can improve cybersecurity risk posture, enhance decision-making, and increase cyber-resilience of energy systems. An emphasis on key concepts and federal operational and energy technologies provide a better understanding of cybersecurity challenges and risks for energy managers.
