Experiments: Building Series and Parallel Circuits

    Research output: NLRFact Sheet

    Abstract

This experiment will guide students through the basics of building a parallel circuit and a series circuit using a potato. The intended audience are students grades 4-8; however, the activity could easily be scaled up or down to all grade levels depending on the amount of independent work and exploration that was permitted during the activity. This activities vocabulary includes voltage, circuits, voltmeter, electrons. It could easily be expanded to include amperage.
