Abstract

This report examines the intersection of marine energy and the sectors of green hydrogen and marine Carbon Dioxide Removal, taking into account potential synergies, market maturity, barriers, policy enablers, and sustainability perspectives. Through desk research and interviews with a diverse range of subject matter experts from academia, government, industry, venture capital, and non-profit sectors, these emergent sectors were identified as the most promising new opportunities for marine energy integration beyond those explored in the 2019 Powering the Blue Economy Report. The findings presented are the combined result of desk research and information gathered through these interviews.
