Abstract
The use of crystalline WO3 nanoparticles for highly electrochromic applications was described. It was observed that the nanoparticle deposited by electrophoresis exhibit vastly superior electrochemical-cycling stability in acidic electrolytes. The integrated cathodic-current density equates to the amount of protons intercalated to form a tungsten bronze. It was shown that the nanoparticle oxide materials have improved response times because of their stability towards proton insertion when compared to conventional EC electrode materials.
