Abstract
Cogeneration systems use two or more forms of energy (such as electricity and heat extracted from steam or hot water) from one fuel-burning installation. This fact sheet discusses how these systems offer local governments a flexible way to reduce energy, operating, and maintenance costs for buildings in their districts.
