Abstract
DOE's Bioenergy Program seeks to maintain a balance between outreach, demonstration, and deployment efforts, and development of the basic technology (new crops and new methods). As explained in this fact sheet, the program provides long-term crop development, economic evaluation, and environmental research to collaborators: all three of these activities must occur in order to reduce the risk toprivate-sector companies willing to adopt private-sector technologies.
