Abstract
Athena is a project by the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) advancing data-driven, artificial intelligence (AI)-enabled solutions for airport operations. Launched in 2018, Athena develops predictive models that help airports process large volumes of operational data and make smarter, more efficient decisions. We work closely with airport stakeholders to understand their needs and create customized tools that are widely replicable and transferable for other airports. Athena's free, easy-to-use modeling tools allow any airport to understand and optimize the operations of rental cars, rideshare services, advanced aircraft, ground support equipment (GSE), parking, and integrated terminals combining advanced aircraft and GSE. In addition to free software and tools available through the Aeroportal, airports can partner with Athena for deep-dive analytics and tailored energy solutions that lower costs, increase efficiency, and boost resilience.
