Abstract

Using waste wood as fuel, the generating station in Grayling, Michigan, produces power for local industry and residents, generates fly-ash, a valuable soil additive, and shares wastewater treatment capacity with the new sewage plant. As detailed in the CADDET publication, a growing need for energy and environmental remediation made the Michigan location an ideal site for an integrated wood-firedpower plant.
