Personal Profile
Yimin Lu is a postdoctoral researcher in the Computational Modeling Group at NLR. His research focuses on granular mechanics, dynamics of compressible particles, and multi-physics multi-scale modeling. His current work investigates the flow behavior of milled biomass and nonrecyclable municipal solid waste, industrial handling equipment optimization, and thermo-chemical processes in bio-reactors for bioenergy production and waste-to-energy. Before joining NLR, Yimin obtained his doctorate degree in geosystems engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. His doctoral work includes the granular flow of milled biomass, shallow geothermal energy recovery, and flow in porous media.
