Personal Profile
Sivasathya Pradha Balamurugan conducts research at the intersection of cybersecurity, simulation, cyber-physical systems, high-performance computing, and resilient energy infrastructure. Since joining the laboratory, she has served as Principal Investigator and Technical Lead on projects advancing cybersecurity for distributed energy resources, smart buildings, and grid modernization.
Her research focuses on developing scalable cyber-physical simulation environments, operational technology cybersecurity, artificial intelligence enabled resilience, and large-scale co-simulation platforms for evaluating the security and resilience of critical energy infrastructure. She has played a key role in research platforms, including the ARIES CyberRange, and in developing cybersecurity testbeds that support realistic evaluation of cyber threats against modern energy systems.
Balamurugan has authored many peer-reviewed publications and technical reports and actively collaborates with national laboratories, universities, industry partners, and federal agencies to translate research into practical cybersecurity solutions. Her work has been recognized with an R&D 100 Award for innovation and has contributed to advancing secure, resilient, and intelligent energy systems.
