Marlena Praprost joined NLR in 2018 as a commercial buildings research engineer. Her work focuses on advancing large‑scale commercial building energy modeling through ComStock™, where she is a core developer of the open‑source, high‑resolution tool used to assess energy use, upgrade measures, and grid impacts across the U.S. building stock. She has led national‑scale geothermal heat pump modeling using ComStock and ResStock™, generating datasets and analyses that support technology deployment. She has also conducted extensive modeling of many building technologies and energy efficiency strategies, contributing to studies such as the LA100 initiative and other analyses that deliver actionable insights to stakeholders including utilities and industry. In addition, she co‑founded NLR’s Early Career Network in 2019 to support employee engagement and workforce development.
