Personal Profile
Lorelle Mansfield’s research is focused on advancing thin-film photovoltaics. Much of her early research was on Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin films for solar cell applications. Now she is program manager for the Cadmium Telluride Accelerator Consortium, a funded collaboration of universities, companies, and NLR working together to accelerate the development of cheaper, more efficient cadmium telluride (CdTe) solar cells. She has worked in photovoltaics for more than 15 years, fabricating thin-films and devices, characterizing materials and devices, modeling tandem and single-junction solar cells and modules, testing cell-level reliability, and leading research projects.
