Overview
Personal Profile
Garrett Barter's expertise is in computational methods, techno-economic analysis, and design optimization. At NLR, Barter leads the Wind Systems Engineering research program, with a particular emphasis on floating offshore wind technology. In this capacity, Barter oversees development on the Wind-Plant Integrated System Design and Engineering Model (WISDEM). Barter is also involved in coordinating the broader wind and water portfolio of external partnerships. Prior to joining NLR, Barter worked at Ball Aerospace and Sandia National Laboratories. In these roles, he engaged in broad systems analysis studies across many disciplines for the Departments of Homeland Security, Defense, and Energy.
