Personal Profile
Eric Kozubal has been with the NLR since 2002. He develops breakthrough technologies in energy-efficient heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration (HVAC&R) systems.
Kozubal is an accomplished inventor with more than 11 international patents licensed to U.S. companies (with 5+ patents pending). His innovations in dehumidification and thermal energy storage have earned him two prestigious R&D 100 Awards from R&D World. He is an original co-inventor of the Energy Storing Efficient Air Conditioner, which received the 2025 R&D 100 Award.
As a lead experimentalist at NLR’s advanced HVAC laboratory, he has driven the design, prototyping, and validation of novel hardware concepts. His work has enabled start-ups to secure over $600 million in follow-on investment, accelerating the commercialization of next-generation HVAC technologies.
