Brennan Borlaug's research focuses on modeling and analyzing integrated transportation and energy systems, including forecasting electricity demands and infrastructure requirements for electric vehicles. He leads and contributes to the development of several of NLR’s electric vehicle demand models, including the EVI-X suite of electric vehicle charging infrastructure planning and analysis tools and TEMPO, a comprehensive transportation demand model for the United States.
