Alejandra Hermosilla Palacios joined NLR in June 2022. A spectroscopist by training, her research focus is the dynamics that govern charge separation at the interface between single-walled carbon nanotubes and several electron acceptors. Hermosilla Palacios received her bachelor’s in chemistry from Universidad del Valle de Guatemala in 2015. She continued her research as a doctorate candidate at the University of Florida in Valeria Kleiman’s group. She received her doctoral degree for her work on two-dimensional electronic spectroscopy of ruthenium polpyridinic complexes in 2021. During this time, she also contributed to research topics including singlet fission and isomerization dynamics. In her current position, she has acquired new expertise on nuclear magnetic resonance techniques, transition metal dichalcogenides, chemical vapor deposition, and characterization.
